For the 10th anniversary of the Wempe Sternwarte, the young watchmaker is celebrating a double premiere: the fifth own manufactory caliber CW 4, which is also Wempe's first automatic automatic caliber.
The work is inserted into an elegant three-pointer watch with date, which carries classic values: maximum performance, efficiency and reliability. In the two material versions of the Chronometerwerke Automatik, a true power station is used, which has a 92-hour gear reserve with the highest precision. Thanks to its precision, the time meter qualifies as a German Chronometer and follows all the rules of competent Glashütter watchmaking.
"The idea of developing our own round automatic calibers already came about when we launched our first wrist chronometers ten years ago," says Kim-Eva Wempe, who heads the family business in the fourth generation. "In the end, the technical development lasted nearly four years. According to traditional watchmaking, future-oriented innovation is at the forefront. At the same time, we remain faithful to balanced aesthetics and fair prispolitics. "
The design of Chronometerwerke Automatik
The housing diameter is 41 millimeters at 11.7 millimeters height. The rounded housing flanks and the drawn-down belt impacts also ensure high wearing comfort with the Chronometerwerke Automatik. With the balanced proportions of the golden section, the classic overall picture is arranged in which the hour, minute and second hands are arranged centrally. A framed date display is placed at 3 o'clock, easy to read because the date dial is located very close to the dial and is therefore not shaded.
Ergänzt wird die exzellente Ablesbarkeit durch die betonten Kontraste und lang gezogenen Feuillezeiger, die über die haptischen Stabindexe bis zur Eisenbahnminuterie hinausreichen. Das Saphirglas ist beidseitig entspiegelt, um Lichtreflexe zu vermeiden – eben in jeder Hinsicht eine Uhr von absoluter Klarheit.
Die Edelstahlvariante besitzt ein mattes Silber-Zifferblatt mit polierten Stundenindexe und wird an einem schwarzen Full-Cut-Kroko-lederarmband getragen, das in Deutschland genäht wird.
Bei der Gelbgoldversion, deren Farbton mit 4N vornehm diskret wirkt, ist das Silber-Zifferblatt mit einem matten Champagnerton überzogen und die polierten Stundenindexe sind vergoldet. Dieses Modell wird mit einem cognacfarbenen Armband angelegt, das dieselbe Lederqualität besitzt.
